Ok, now this is just wild! After I finished those 6 blue blocks yesterday, I took out the blocks I had finished over the past 5 years and laid them out. There are 22 full blocks – that’s 1,408 1″ pieces!
Ok, when I said my blue squares were abundant, I had no idea I had enough to make 6 full blocks! Each postage stamp block has 64 1″ finished pieces. There are some repeats within a block, but all in all, they are pretty scrappy.
This quilt has been in the works for years. I save my scraps (almost all of them) and when my scrap bins are full, I spend a few hours ironing and cutting 1 1/2 inch squares. I’ve got them organized by color in little boxes, and the blue section was just getting unruly. So today, I got to work on sewing them into pairs and then into strips of 8.
